Clean Up Challenge

Posted: April 28th, 2010 by Captain Nat

Along with the mental clean that I’ve been doing I’m also attempting to clean out my room along with all the random boxes of stuff that I have floating around the house and shed. My room has had a bit of a new makeover. I’ve taken down the posters that have covered the walls for my entire life. Mind you there are still a few up, but the walls have been cleared to make room for art. I have a few pictures that I want to frame to fill up the space. I’m not big on plain white walls. I like having things displayed.
So here are some shots of my nice clean room….finally. I’ve been talking about doing a big room clean for a while.

But still I’m not done. The mission that I’ve chosen to accept is the clean out challenge. Starting tomorrow I will be going through my stuff in the spare room as well as the shed. I’ll be documenting some of my memories that I am sure I will come across. This is a throw out mission. Things must go.

I’ve also got to hook my projector back up and get that all working again. I miss laying in bed and watching everything on that, the pc monitor just isn’t the same. Maybe I’ll go and get a start on that now….

Supanova Pop Culture Expo

Posted: April 19th, 2010 by Captain Nat

So yesterday I headed off to the Supanova Pop Culture Expo with my mate Llewella. Hadn’t seen her in so long. You know you’re great friends with someone when you do catch up and everything is as if no time has passed between you.

So I found an entire shelf of The Nightmare Before Christmas stuff that I wanted. I made a massive mental list of things to get when I have lots of money to spend on novelty crap. :)

Some super cute bookmarks. There were so many badges and everything it was truely awesome. There was even a Chuck Norris badge. I’m kinda dissapointed that I didn’t go back to the stand and buy it.

Of course you can’t have a pop culture expo and not include Star Wars. Managed to get a happy snap of Darth Maul, even got him to smile for it. I would of thought it a hard feat to get this little sith to crack a grin, but no.

I was so impressed with these dolls. Such beautiful craftsmanship.

For those out there that like to play serial killer you can now own your very own Dexter doll.

Forget the days of making your own Dr. Who phone booth from old cardboard boxes.

The only purchase I actually made was on an Archie comic book. I went through a bit of a stage as a kid of collecting these, so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to reminisce. Now to track down the box in the shed with the rest of my collection.

Now I just have to save lots of money to spend at it next year. There was also so much Buffy stuff. I really need to get my hands on the Season 8 comics.

Convention Mania

Posted: April 14th, 2010 by Captain Nat

So today I ventured off to the Internet Show at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. Interesting enough day, listened to a few seminars on ‘Social Media Optimisation’ and ‘ Search Engine Optimisation’. Wandered around picking up flyers and stuff, so got some reading material to flick through over the next day or so.

I’m pretty excited though cos I have now organised with my mate Nizmo to head in to the Supanova Pop Culture Expo that’s being held at the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds. So that should be uber exciting. Getting my Buffy lingo down. James Marsters will be there on the Saturday night for a concert but alas no autograph signing on the sunday. So glad to be finally getting down to this. I’ve heard about it and talked about attending in the past but nothing ever eventuated.
